Vintonic – Jakarta’s Rising Electro-Pop Trio

Vintonic is an electro-pop band from Jakarta, Indonesia, formed in 2019. The trio consists of Ravin Kalindra (Guitar), Heston Prasetyo (Keys/Producer), and Nicho Benito (Vocal). Heston and Ravin, after studying music in Boston, returned to Indonesia, where Heston became a full-time producer, and Ravin pursued a career as a film composer. Meanwhile, Nicho performed at various gigs and events outside his day job. Their paths crossed when a mutual friend introduced Nicho to Heston’s studio for a jam session. Impressed by Nicho’s songwriting and vocals, Heston shared the demo with Ravin. The chemistry was undeniable, leading to the formation of Vintonic.

Growing up immersed in Japanese anime soundtracks, the band developed a deep appreciation for their unique and emotive melodies. This influence naturally seeped into their music, blending seamlessly with their Soul and R&B-inspired arrangements. Additionally, Vintonic draws from the nostalgic soundscapes of the ’80s, incorporating drum machines, analog synthesizers, and vintage electronic textures. The result is a distinctive fusion of Citypop, Electropop, and R&B, creating a sound that is both fresh and timeless.
